Saw a crow picking dried leaves on my way to work this morning, presumably gathering stuff to make its nest. That reminded my dad about the fable by Aesop about the Crow and the Pitcher. And we chatted about how the crow was dropping pebbles into the pitcher so that the water level in it will rise to the top, and the bird was able to quench its thirst. Nevermind about the moral behind the story about how necessity brings about innovation/creative ideas, but rather about how possible is it that the pebbles are able to raise the water level in pitcher significantly enough for the crow to quench her thirst.
Hmm... maybe the pitcher is already half full, just that the crow's beak isn't long enough to reach it. Oh well, time I grab some marbles and drop them into a jug to find out
